DIVINE PLEA

“When you plead the name of Christ, you plead that which shakes the gates of hell and that which the hosts of heaven obey, and God Himself feels the sacred power of that divine plea.”

~ Charles Spurgeon

Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

Satan hates God and would very much like to dethrone Him and take over. He cannot. So, what is Plan B? Separate, for eternity, the apple of His eye. What or who does He love most? That’s you, dear reader. Let us never forget that we are in the dark sides’ crosshairs every moment of every day and be assured that the closer you move toward God the greater the effort against you. 1 Peter 5:8, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Recall Job 1:7, “The Lord said to Satan, ‘Where have you come from?’ Satan answered the Lord, ‘From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.’” In that regard then, when your world seems to be unraveling, understand that it may be, in a large part, due to the simple fact that you are doing something right! You have gotten the enemy’s attention. Christians who are not a threat are often allowed to continue living a comfortable but unprofitable life. If you are walking with the Lord, desiring Him, and all hell is breaking loose, rejoice! The dark side is in trouble and they know it. Good for you. Carry on.

James 4:7, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Also, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
